THANK YOU for sharing this list! I've been looking for resources to share with teachers regarding powerful instructional techniques to help them bring STEM education to all students. Your list is very similar to things we do for teaching science (like wait time, visuals). Thank you so much!

I just discovered your wonderful blog and was thrilled to see that you are encouraging translanguaging. After finishing my 2nd year working with high school ELLs, I feel encouraged that my colleagues have been using many of these strong strategies in their own classrooms. We can do a better job of encouraging students to use their own language in class with English rather than push an "English only" classroom environment. Especially with students reluctant to speak, mixing heterogenous and homogenous language groupings can encourage those students use their native speaking skills to strengthen their English speaking every day.
